:: i'm so disappointed in you, jay ::

todae went and redeem jay's new album with jacinta. oh before that...jacinta was trying kinda HARD to let me understand this: Is the colour of the grass green? Ok, is the colour of the grass green? I swear i really dun understand. earlier in school, me, libei, jacinta and edmund were sitting at the same table and i keep getting conned by edmund with all these testing ur listening stuff. cannort tahan them. anyway, i tink jacinta really "fed up" with me not able to get it. heh heh...but she cannort get angry with me. if not, i dun wait for her le. oh and we saw a phui phui at the music store, i tink somehow she's influenced by my silly joke cos she sae that phui phui must have swallowed a basketball too.

okae. next. onto jay's new album.
i going to review it right now.
i tink frankly speaking, it suxs. i'm not saying this album's music not nice or wat. but it lacks IMPACT. i mean when you listen to ni ting de dao, gui ji, duan le de xuan or even qing tian...the tune sticks in ur head. although it's true that you haf to listen very long till you like jay's songs....it must haf an impact and stick in ur head in the first place. this album's unable to do that.

mostly rock and rap. some even resemble nan quan ma ma. i always haf this hunch that jay keeps recycling his notes. i think it's quite evident in this album if you bought nan quan ma ma's disc like me. really lar.
another factor is his slow songs. they dun haf that same time of impact like an jing, shi jie mo ri, ai qing xuan ya etc. in fact, i tink most sucks. lyrics wise....also kinda sucky. jie lun dunno why keep using ai ai ai lar...i mean last time when he wan to sing love songs also never ai so much. haix.

next is vincent fang. lyrics for a few songs is quite good. really got the ancient china feeling. but then he really screwed up Qi Li Xiang. qi li xiang is written as if it's a poem and i tink if you wan to write it like a poem..you got to do it like dong feng puo. dong feng puo is really a piece of literature if you just look at the lyrics. unfortunately, we aren't able to see this in Qi Li Xiang. you know...for example like Tang poems, ppl back in those days dun sae i love you, wo ai ni or such things. they express it discreetly. in dong feng puo, we know that the song is about missing someone hu's already gone...but we dun hear wo xiang ni, hen xiang ni etc. missing a loved one is being told and felt between those lyrics. and vincent can't do that for Qi Li Xiang. you can hear wat...Qi Li Xiang's "wo de ai yi chu jiu xiang yu shui" lar or "ba yong yuan ai ni xie jin shi de jie wei" etc....haix...doesn't really haf that poem feel back in ancient china. but thumbs up with Jay coming up with Qi Li Xiang's melody. i must comment this is one of the nicest, if not, the best tune in the album.

so what the album lack this time round is IMPACT. with one or two tracks appealing, it's hard to get anyone's notice. die-hard Jay fans will claim that the album is nice; it is, but you need time to appreciate it. and tat's the sad thing. this fifth album resembles the third album, eight dimensions...which i tink is quite lousy, save for a few songs when compared to the second or fourth album. i tink i notice something. his albums are nice when they are even numbered, sucks when they are odd numbered. maybe lar.

JAY! concentrate on your music lar. dun shoot wat movie or wat. your music is getting more and more commercialised! one year one album, and you give all ur fans this type of music to listen to for one whole year till the sixth album? gosh, you better mark up. if not, i tink slowly you will lose your appeal. but till then, you still rock. period.
